Hi, my name is Zoe and this was my first day at math camp. (audience: Yayyy!!!) So far I really hate this camp. Im Just jokin' with ya! Im having allot of fun at math camp. Well, except for waking up at 6:15 am, that stinks. Today in math camp we got up (at 6:15) and got ready to go. Then we went and had breakfast in the west dining hall. Today, for breakfast, I had bacon eggs, and two pancakes. They were really good. I hope they have something good for dinner.
I met a few friends here. Kristin, who was my roommate last year came back this year and we talked a bit.(she is sitting one person away from me right now). Katie, who is my roommate now, we talked a bit in our room but contact between us is nonexistent right now. Lizzie is another of the friends Ive made but shes sitting kinda far away from me so I cant talk to her now. I like her though, we had a lot of fun last night at the games the consolers had us play to get to know each other. The other person I made friends with is named Naomi. Shes nice and we get along pretty well. I'll never keep any of these friends after camp but its nice to have them now.
Back to today, after breakfast we went to the building called stipes. We were in room 501. Stipes 501 it has a nice ring to it ya'know? So anyways today in room 501 we ...

- We also learned about this Greek, woman mathematician (SP?) named Hypatia. She was the first woman in history to contribute to mathematics. Unfortunately, she was killed by and angry mob. That is so encouraging. Oh, well (sigh)

+Learned about the fibonnaci sequence
-1,1,2,3,5,8,13,21 and so on and so forth
-Did you know that the guy who came up with the sequence's name is actually Leonardo. His father was named fibbon and fibonnaci means son of fibbon. Cool, Huh?
-Rows on pineapples, pine cones, sea shells, and flowers all ar fibonnaci numbers. Unless there funky. Fibbonaci fruit! DARE: Try to say Funky Fibonnaci Fruit 5 or 10 times fast.
Lunch today was sandwiches. I got a turkey sandwich, potato chips, a salad, and a brownie. We ate right after the linear graphing. After that we went to the computer lab. (where we are now) In the computer lab we did online tessellations. It was cool. Mine looks kind of like a running bird but Im sure no one agrees with me.
Well, there are only five minutes left and I want to read, Im reading this book called "veil of roses' by Laura Fitzgerald. Its about an Iranian girl who comes to the US. Its a great book, I highly recommend it. Oh no, now I only have two minutes left now. G2G bye! :)
