Hey there again! Today is Wednesday July 23. After we woke up, had breakfeast, we went toour class. This morning we learned about Ada Lovelace, fractal geometry and we played a game called mastermind.For snack we had goldfish, trailmix and pink lemonade. Then we got a guest speaker named Stephanie Jones, who is a engineer. We got to make slime. Then it was lunch time. While we ate lunch we watched Numbers.Next we learned about polyhedrons. After that we ate dinner and went swimming then we went bowling. Last, we went to bed. I was tired after all that swimming and bowling.
I am back! Today is Thursday July 24. As usual, we did our daily routine. Guess What?! It was raining outside so we took the van to breakfeast and first class. We went to our first class. We read and learned about Charlotte Scott, did probabilityand statistics, and more Pascal's Triangle.We had a Christmas cookie and strawberry or peach yougart.After that, we did geometry with origami. Then we had lunch.After lunch, a speaker named Beth Hanson talked more about probability and statistics. Next we went to the bookstore, went to dinner, and ;prep for bed/packing for home.Then it's lights out.
Can you believe It is the last day?! Well it is! Of course, we did our daily routine. Then we went to our first class and we learned about Marjorie Brown and we built a kite. We also learned about spatial visualization with pentaminoes and tangrams.Our instructor gave comments and presented certificates and photos.Believe it or not, it was time to check out. I had a great week and I hope to come back again.See you soon!
Today, July 21,2008 was the first day of camp. We woke up early in the morning,got ready, and had breakfeast. Then it was time to go to our first class.First, we read and talked about a ancient woman mathmatician named Hypatia of Alexandria.Second, we were split into groups to make a venn diagram about what our group has in common and what we don't. Third, we had a introduction to linear equations, polynominals, and graphing. We also learned how to do graphing on a graphing calulators. Fourth, we had snack time. There was goldfish,apple sauce, and Kool Aid (fruit punch). Fifth, we learned about Fibonacci and Golden Ratio. We did some activities about them and we even measured ourselves to see who was the "golden girl". Last but not least, We learned how to make a tesselations on a computer.
