Today was fun filled with quadratic equations. We learned of Pascals triangle and filled one out until row twelve. We studied with algebra tiles and I get to take some home.

I also learned about Sophie Germain. She was a woman mathematician about 200 years ago. She had no official schooling and her parents did not want her to have an education. She would read covered in quilts by candle, for her parents took away her lights and the logs to her fire in a attempt to stop her from reading.She sent her application into a school that would only accept boys but she was so impressive that a professor let her in anyway.

Welcome to 2008 math camp. Making this web page is only one of the things I've learned today. I've learned about linear equations and hypatia the woman mathematician from 400 ad who was cruelly killed by an angry mob. I also learned about the golden ratio in fruit and flowers. I had a cheese sandwich for lunch.I also watched movies. That's all for today bye.

July 23rd,

I had so much fun today as we had learned a lot. We learned of Ada Borlyn Lovelace also known as the mother of computers. In the 1800'S she helped a man come up and write out the concept of the computer. They never made it but the work she put in is directly affective to the modern computer.

We played Mastermind to practice patterns and I won 3 out of 4 games. We learned of fractal geometry and how it is every where around us. I also increased my knowledge of polyhedrons.

We watched a couple of episodes of numbers and I kind of understood what they were talking about. Remember to vote for me on the home page thats all for now. Bye!!!!!!

July 24,

This is our last full day of math camp we have had tons of fun. There was a lecture on probability today and we made origami shapes I got the hang of it after a while. There was vegetarian lasagna to eat and we celebrated Christmas in July. We are getting ready to go to the bookstore and have tons of fun.

We learned of Charlott Scott. She went to college when woman weren't allowed to get degrees. She prospered got a doctrine elsewhere and became a math teacher at a persevere school.

I have had so much fun here and I know this will help me in school. I have made friends and have had a very beneficial experience for my education. I love math!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
